Media Blitz (a couple hoops notes)

The OUA basketball season is little more than a month away, but the pre-season schedule is ready to tip off.

- Who better to prime us for the pre-season than CIS hoops fantatic Mark Wacyk, who, thankfully, is back to blogging about basketball this season.

Afrer being idle for about two weeks, Wacyk returns with a lengthy primer and a complete schedule of pre-season and non-conference games. Personally, I'm bookmarking the latter.

- And, in keeping with the pre-season, Bernd Franke of the Welland Tribune has a piece advancing the charity basketball game between the Brock Badgers and Niagara College Knights.

It's almost unbelievable these two teams have supposedly never played each other in their 43- and 41-year histories, respectively.

I should take this time to remind readers this is not strictly a football blog, but will delve heavily into hoops and hockey as the seasons inch closer. However, at the moment, there is no denying we're in the throes of the football season.
